During a routine nighttime training mission in the Scottish Highlands, a small squad of British soldiers expected to rendezvous with a special ops unit instead find a bloody massacre with a sole survivor. The savage attackers of the special ops team return, and the men are rescued by a zoologist who identifies what hunts them as werewolves. Without transport or communications, the group is forced to retreat to a farmhouse to wait for the full moon to disappear at dawn.

T has been going back and taking a look at some of the bigger creature feature franchises of the 80s this past week and he's now turning his attention to the first of a franchise that doesn't really hit it's mark especially compared against a lot of the better ones coming out at the same time

As a child, Jonathan was almost killed by his father, Malcolm, during a satanic ritual. After being saved and raised by Wolfgang, who has kept him unaware of his background, Jonathan inherits Malcolm's house and moves in with girlfriend Rebecca. During a party, he jokingly performs a ceremony described in one of his father's books on black magic, not realizing he has unleashed small, demonic creatures known as "Ghoulies."

Through 2024, T has been going back and working his way through some of the most classic creature features and their franchises in the 80s. After recently seeing the original Ghoulies for the first time all the way through, T has decided to break down where he thinks the quality really lies between 3 specific franchises: Puppet Master, Critters, and Ghoulies
